The original site was a collection of PHP that was pretty good a couple of years ago, but by today’s standards is quite under powered.  I was originally considering making a new site from scratch, but after having a bit of a play around with WordPress I decided that I could make it do what I wanted with a bit of configuration and a nice theme :)
