Hi I just set up my MSN mail on MAC Mail by just entering my email address and password. All seamed to work fine except it only download about 30 messages from like 5 years ago. Recent ones are not being downloaded from the server. I can send messages OK and if I right click on the In Box there is an option that says “Account info” if I click on this it wll go and find all 5000 (yes I know) emails I have on the MSN server. But I don’t know how to get them into the inbox? and also new emails don seem to be coming into my inbox either. Can someone help?

It’s asking for the user name and password for your Hotmail account.

Example: args@hotmail.com

Username: args (or args@hotmail.com)
Password: -password for args@hotmail.com-

Daniel – Can you elaborate on the gmail option. Once I do that how would I get all my old ‘msn’ emails over to Mail on the mac?

Thank you for the tip!
I tried setting it as you said, but it would not work.
Here’s what i did :
Preferences>Hotmail account
Incoming server : pop3.live.com
Settings > outgoing server : smtp.live.com
Port : 995
Use SSL : on
Is there something wrong in what i’ve done ?

BE PATIENT – hotmail will send a little welcome message but you need their other email with a link to a goptcha before you’ll finalize it – took me 4 tries 10.6.5

Got MAC’s mail to work fine. Be patient. It was frustrating – went through it 4 times before FINALLY hotmail’s live.com sent a message with a required click-through to a goptcha – after that it ran smoothly, if slower than yahoo or gmail – no plug-ins, nothing with Snow Leopard 10.6.5

Hi guys, I had it all set up as shown above and everything’s been fine for ages (about a year) then yesterday at 10pm my smtp server for hotmail has rejected my address and so I can’t send any mail, receiving is absolutely fine. At a loss. Pls help!!!

Hi can you tell me how I can remove the httpmail plugin as it will not work with mail 4.3 (1081) thanks
