Overview
Thank you for using I Want My Bones Back (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App. We believe strongly in your right to privacy, and we have designed the App with that principle at its core.
The short version: any health data the App reads or writes stays entirely on your device. We never transmit, collect, or share your data with anyone — including ourselves.
Information We Access
The App integrates with Apple Health (HealthKit) on your device. Depending on the permissions you grant, the App may read and/or write health and fitness data through HealthKit. The types of data accessed may include:
• Bone density and musculoskeletal metrics
• Body measurements and composition data
• Activity and fitness data
• Any other HealthKit data types relevant to the App’s functionality
You are in full control of which data types the App may access. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time through the Health app or your iPhone’s Privacy & Security settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > I Want My Bones Back).
How Your Data Is Used
Health data accessed through HealthKit is used solely to provide the App’s core functionality — displaying, tracking, and analysing your health information within the App. Your data is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is needed to operate the App.
All data processing occurs entirely on your device. The App does not transmit any HealthKit data, or any other data, to us or to any third party under any circumstances.
Local Data Storage
The App may store data locally on your device (for example, your preferences, settings, or a local history of your tracked information). This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any external server operated by us.
Data stored locally by the App may be included in your standard iOS device backups to iCloud or iTunes/Finder, which are governed by Apple’s own Privacy Policy and subject to your iCloud settings. We have no access to these backups.
You can delete all locally stored App data at any time by uninstalling the App from your device.
Data Transmission and Telemetry
The App contains no telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, or any other mechanism for transmitting data off your device. Specifically:
• No usage analytics are collected or transmitted
• No crash or diagnostic reports are sent to us
• No advertising identifiers are used or shared
• No network requests are made to our servers or any third-party servers
Your data stays on your device. Period.
Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics services, advertising networks, crash reporting tools, or data brokers. We do not include any SDKs or frameworks that collect or transmit data on our behalf.
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain information in accordance with their own Privacy Policy and App Store policies, which are independent of this App and outside our control. HealthKit data is managed by Apple’s Health platform; please review Apple’s Privacy Policy at apple.com/privacy for information on how Apple handles HealthKit data at the platform level.
Apple HealthKit Data — Additional Commitments
In accordance with Apple’s HealthKit guidelines and applicable law, we make the following specific commitments regarding HealthKit data:
• HealthKit data will not be used for advertising or advertising measurement purposes
• HealthKit data will not be sold to third parties
• HealthKit data will not be disclosed to third parties for any reason, except as required by law or with your explicit consent
• HealthKit data will not be used for any purpose other than providing the App’s health and fitness functionality
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because all data is stored locally on your device and nothing is transmitted to us, we do not receive information from users of any age. If you believe a child has used the App in a manner inconsistent with this Policy, please contact us.
Your Rights and Controls
Because no data is ever sent to us, we hold no personal information about you. Your data remains entirely within your own control at all times. You can:
• Grant or revoke HealthKit permissions at any time via iOS Settings
• Delete all locally stored App data by uninstalling the App
• Manage your Health app data directly through the Apple Health app
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in an updated version available within the App or on our website, with a revised effective date. We will never introduce data collection or transmission practices without first obtaining your explicit, informed consent.
